Description
General description
August Macke, one of the main components of the German expressionist group Der blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), lived through a particularly innovative period in the art of his country in which, while the main expressionist trends were developing, the successive movements of avant-garde from the rest of Europe. As a true contemporary of his time, Macke was able to integrate into his painting the aspects of the avant-garde that most interested him.
He lived most of his creative life in Bonn, apart from a few stays at Lake Thun in Switzerland and various trips to Paris, Italy, the Netherlands and Tunisia. In Paris, where he traveled for the first time in 1907, he became acquainted with the work of the Impressionists, and shortly afterwards, in Berlin, he spent a few months in Lovis Corinth's studio. His artistic style began within French Impressionism and Post-Impressionism and later went through a fauve phase. In 1910, through his friend Franz Marc, he met Kandinsky and for a time shared the non-objective aesthetics and mystical and symbolic concerns of Der blaue Reiter.
The meeting in Paris with Robert Delaunay, in 1912, was for Macke a true revelation. The French artist's chromatic cubism, baptized by Apollinaire as Orphism, prevailed in his painting from then on. Macke's Showcases can be considered a personal interpretation of Delaunay's Windows combined with the simultaneity of images of Italian Futurism. The exotic environment of Tunisia, where he traveled in 1914 together with Paul Klee and Louis Moillet, was decisive for the creation of the luminist aesthetic at the end of his life, a stage in which he produced a series of works considered masterpieces of color.
His career was cut short by his untimely death on the front lines of World War I in September 1914.

The case is very good and fits my phone very well, I personally do not recommend buying them through Aliexpress since they cost less but are less robust.
