The spirit of the dead watches over (in Tahitian Manao tupapau, normalized Mana'o tūpāpa'u), is a painting by the painter Paul Gauguin made in 1892, during his first stay in Tahiti. It is kept at the Albright-Knox Museum in Buffalo.
