In 1909 Munch completed his treatment at the clinic and took a trip along the southern coast of Norway. He later settled in the coastal town of Kragler and rented a wooden house. From this period his work focused on the surrounding landscape. The vitality of the forest is expressed through exaggerated perspective techniques and color effects.
